Are those your builds? They are all beautiful. I would have used you in a heart beat if your were in DFW.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Real nice. I liked the building where the roof spilled into the pool. It gives me ideas for our pool. Thanks

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Para,
Yes! all my babies. I like Texas, but I love it here in Scottsdale, thanks for the kind words.

Jpark,
We did that to cover some road noise behind the property.
It makes a great white noise, they even leave it on when they are in the house.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

These look like pieces of art. They all have such a good fit to the homes and surrounding landscape. Fabulous work! Thanks for sharing!

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Phenomenal

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

That is so Fabulous! I love the water from the fountain formed into a woman setting on top of it. The designs are so fantastic. You gave an inspiration in designing my pool. Thank you for sharing them.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

WOW! Great pics! Thanks for posting.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy...!!! These are spectacular!! Kind of makes me feel like throwing in the towel; you win!!! My favorite pool is the first one posted but they are all amazing! Where were you when I was building my nightmare in CT?! If we ever move to Scottsdale...!
Joanne

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Thankyou, Thankyou, and Thankyou.

Joanne,
The first one is my personal pool, and I never get tired of looking at it.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Just-a-pb,
You do very very nice work. Do you have any pictures of pools that you have put in some of the older homes around Scottsdale and Phoenix? I love mid-century modern homes built in the 1960s. Have you put in any pools in some of the older homes around the Valley? If you do that type of work, I would like to see it because I am currently in search of a PB. Thanks...

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Milo,
I have built some pools in south scottsdale at 60's era homes, as well as some old homes in phx, But not the type of homes you are describing. These are the red brick track houses of the time.
As far as type of work, we can build anything your imagination and budget can handle.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

"Just", have your ever seen a four sided disappearing edge raised bowl with fire that shoots out the center? My favorite feature from all the pools I've seen here. The raised bowl sits above a pool of water of course, and its at the entrance to a casino of course. Would love to see you do one on a residential pool, send pix when its done. smile, Barb

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Fourth pic from the bottom...what coping did you use for raised spa? Looks about 4 inches thick. What is the decking material?

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Nosabe,
No coping.
Just a light Italian travertine, standard cantelever poured concrete with a travertine turn down.
This is not for everyone, it is a slip and slide, but has the look the client wanted.

RE: Pretty Pictures

Hello just-a-pb,

I've already commented on this thread but I can't help myself to look at it over and over again. Although these are just photos its very relaxing to watch each of them because they are all unique and really..... really beautiful..... One thing that I like the most is that the effect of lighting adds to the beauty of your pools. Thanks.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Just-a-pb,
On the 9th picture from the bottom, what decking and coping material is that? I like it because it has that clean lines look. Thanks

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

6th from the bottom... with the big beach entry... is that PebbleTec? Two different colors?

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

JS,
Pebble Sheen
Cool blue, and Desert Gold.

 o
RE1: Pretty Pictures

Milo,
That is a slot overflow pool. The water is at the same level as the deck.
The material is Ancient stone.
It is not my favorite, and is more expensive then natural stone.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

This is really nice work. Great design. You have every right to be incredibly proud.

Are the cactus transplanted or did you build around them. Seems that I read something about people putting microchips in that type of cactus. They are incredible as is the backdrop for your pools.

Great stuff!

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Bumping this because these pools have such different styles The constant thread is artistry and drama. They are exciting to look at and that is their primary function.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Thanks Reno,
Some jobs we build around the saguaros some we put where we want them.
They are old but fairly abundent around here.

Its hard to tell, but in the 5th pic from the bottom, the double edge pool, the saguaro behind it is a metal sculpture. He has several of them on the property.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures-

A few more:)

Oh my! Thank you for posting these! Absolutely gorgeous. You have a gift.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Thanks,
I really do enjoy what I do for a living.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

I can't get over the first pic of your personal pool. I keep coming back to it. It's so gorgeous! When I showed it to my husband(who is a ranger in the army), the first thing that he noticed was the flag in the background. :) Has this pool been featured in any magazines? If not, you really should submit it. It's too gorgeous not to share. Breathtaking . . .

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Thanks TX, and we all thank your husband for his service.
Look close there are two flags. One on the back side of my property, and one a little ways back on the left. Its kind of cool having them both lit up at night.

I have never sent any of my work in for the different contests ect. Maybe one day.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Yep - I honestly believe if you start submitting some of your work for contest entry, etc., you'll find yourself spending a lot of time in CA, as Hollywood's elite will definitely be commissioning you to build their pools. No doubt about it!

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Zugg,
Thanks for the kind words.

Oprah, are you reading this?

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures.

One more.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

One of these day's you'll get it right. Keep trying buddy!

Scott

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

That's funny, Scott!

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Hey there just-a-pb,

Was wondering what material was used on your spa/spillovers in pictures 9 & 19. We really want the same trickle down effect on our spa. Your pools are STUNNING! Thanks in advance.

Dana

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

We use harder flagstones, and quartzite to do most of them.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Ok,
One more,

Scott, I will keep plunken away.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

What did you use for the step pads, above?

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Around the pool is travertine pavers.
Stepping stones are a precast material that matches all of the cladding detail on the gazebo.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Ok, new to this forum, not to gardenweb. On other forums, this is considered spam, advertising your work. Is it not on this one????

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

There are lots of pictures on this forum.
I can only speak for myself, but the many pictures I see on this post and many, many others have helped me create a vision for my pool. As far as I have seen, no one has posted company info with their pics. Sure, you can find their info, or ask for it......but that is a whole lot different from spam. In my opinion.
I have actually shown things in this post to my builder and built ideas off of that.
I would hate to see that change.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

hellokitty,

just-a-pb has always and for years, offered help as a contributor in more than just technical areas but also from an artistic point of view.

IF he was a first time poster, many would jump on it as a spam. It isn't and he isn't.

Is he tooting his horn a bit? Yes. He's earned it.

Is he also giving people ideas? Absolutely. His ideas are all over the place.

Are the regulars that frequent this forum grateful for his contributions, HUGE YES.

You have to admit his works are impressive.

If I hit the lottery, I would buy a house in Phoenix just to have him build my pool. I wouldn't think twice about it. If it was a really big lottery, I'd bring he and his team to me in NJ!

Scott

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

I, for one, am grateful for just just-a-pb and his contributions to this forum. I couldn't tell you his company's name though, because he just doesn't mention it. Spam is broadcasting your name, location and how to contact someone. Keep posting your amazing pools just-a-pb, our spillover is going to look FABULOUS thanks to you...all the way out here in Atlanta.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Hellokitty - sorry, but I couldn't disagree with you more. Kelly has been a wonderful contributor to this forum, and my pool build wouldn't be nearly as elaborate or beautiful as it's going to be without his ideas and creativity. Thanks, Kelly - please don't stop posting your pictures.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

Hellokitty - if you visit this forum regularly, you'll see how your comment certainly isn't valid here. Kelly, and the handful of other PBs, are highly respected and appreciated resources. I love to see photos of other peoples' pools, and if you build a pool, please post your pics too.

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

zuggy333, just-a-pb is not Kelly. Kelly is huskyridor.

Scott

 o
RE: Pretty Pictures

HelloKitty,
You caught me. If you look at all my pictures closely you will see a subliminal message with all of my advertising on it.
