The pebble tec installer told us if you balance your chemicals and control your Calcium then the shimmering sea should last as long as your finish does. If you don't do this then it will break down. I just ordered the TF100 pool test kit to make sure I stay on top of things.

Good kit. Comparable to a Taylor but a better value.

thanks! i joined TFP yesterday and looking forward to reading up on all the material there is on the website. do i need to get salt strips as well?

They are convenient but not precise. If you cell has a way to tell you the current salinity, it will give you a fair idea of whether it's working correctly. I use them sometimes.
