Given a choice would you rather have a cook, or someone do clean your house?

Definitely a housekeeper! I enjoy cooking. Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, etc. seem more like drudgery.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper. It's a never ending battle and if I didn't have to clean at all, I could devote more time to cooking. And sewing and reading and goofing off. :)

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Well a house keeper for sure! I could keep them really busy!

RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

A cook is my choice, especially if she did the grocery shopping. I cannot live with out eating, but I am happy in a less than perfectly clean house. And I could work on all my projects without thinking about 3 squares.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

I'd rather have a cook. I'm sick of coking and planning the meals.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper--preferably 3 days a week ;-)

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

A housekeeper, but s/he would have to be really, really, really good. I was co-owner of a residential and small commercial cleaning company for close to 15 years (aeons ago) and we were always requested and highly recommended. I'm my own worst enemy.

Since I love to cook more than I love to clean, I'll have to go with that.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper but just for the things like windows and floors keeping the ceiling and walls clean and dusted etc. I'm too picky and don't like strangers into my stuff.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Someone to clean house. I enjoy cooking, alth my family thinks I should be on The Worst Cook on Food Network. I tell them that or American Idol. Too bad there's an age limit of 28. I'm one year too old!

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper for me!

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper! My husband does the cooking here, and he is a good cook! Except for his help with vacuuming, I get stuck with the housework.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Definitely housekeeper!!! And they can do it ALL.

Shirley

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Love to cook,Too exhausted to clean, took me all weekend to clean house,I use to do it in a day.So clean,my daughter just told me she and daughter nlaw will clean for me.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Hubby cooks, so I would choose housekeeper only to do the things I can't do.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Give me a housekeeper, a box of chocolates, some oranges, coffee and a microwave and I will be good to go!

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Without a doubt, I would prefer a housekeeper.

I am not a big eater, meaning I don't eat a lot, and it doesn't have to be gourmet. I'm one of those who eats to live, not one who lives to eat. I only have to cook for myself so that makes it easier.

Housework is boring, and creates all manner of pain in my back and joints. A house keeper would be my choice.

When can I expect her to be here?

Sue

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

I don't enjoy cooking, but I would like a houseCLEANER every day with laundry and windows included!

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper! I love to cook and bake and since my recent back operations I cannot clean as
often/good before then.
Deb

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

I have a house keeper once a week. What she doesn't do doesn't get done. I love to cook and I spend a lot of time doing cooking and grocery shopping.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper please.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

can't I have both? LOL...given that cooking is much easier on ye ole bones I'll take the cleaner please!!

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

The best gift I ever got was the services of a housekeeper. She doesn't come every day but when ever I need her and she is scheduled for once per week or once every two weeks so if I could have my choice, I'd have Lois every day ...I don't mind cooking ...I rather enjoy it but it would be nice to have someone clean up after me.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Definitely not cooking...I like my own cooking more than anyone else's...and if a housekeeper, only rarely...because I don't like people underfoot. Now...if I could find someone who could tell daylilies from grass...I wouldn't mind some help in the yard once in awhile.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Definitely a housekeeper.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper!!!

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper. I like to cook.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

A housekeeper for me too...3-4 days a week.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper!

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

I could use both since I work a lot and sometimes have no time to do either. Though DH seems to have more free time than I do he is not very useful in either area. I do have a house cleaner who comes every two weeks which I really appreciate.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

For me it would be the cook, I really don't mind cleaning,I do keep a very clean and tidy house, but I would love for someone else to cook, mostly comming up with ideas on what to fix every day.
My best friends husband does most all the cooking for them, have always thought that would be great, as for my hubby, he does know how to pour a mean bowl of cereal, and has mastered take out pizza...

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

I'd prefer the cook, because if someone else went through my house and organized stuff to their liking, I could never find anything right away and would spend too much of my time "hunting for stuff".

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

I would prefer a housekeeper; so I could have more time to enjoy cooking.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

A housekeeper for sure. In fact I just hired one to come every other week. Today will be her first visit. I still work part-time (although I retired several years ago, LOL) and hate trying to keep up with the house and still enjoy my golf, etc. I'm treating myself. I love to cook, so a cook would be 2nd.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Another vote for a housekeeper. I enjoy cooking 90% of the time.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Send me the housekeeper!!!!

Unfortunately, I fill both roles + now. :)

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

A housekeeper - definitely!

Here is a link that might be useful: Jock Strap Maids

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Definitely a housekeeper. Although I'm not the world's best cook, I can manage to serve a pretty good meal. I would love to afford the luxury of having a housekeeper come in once a week and do deep cleaning type chores.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper that would grocery shop for me. I love to cook, but hate the clean up and shopping.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

A housekeeper.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

I'm another eat-to-live person, and I like a clean house so the choice is easy: Housekeeper. Over the years I've tried hiring cleaners -- and went back to cleaning myself because they broke things and didn't clean thoroughly. Eventually I'll have to try help again! For now, with DH helping, I'm OK.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper would be my choice...and 3 days a week please.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

A housekeeper is someone that would do the cooking and cleaning and errands.

A maid is one that only cleans the house.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

I have a lady that comes in once a week to clean. I love it that I don't have to do any of that anymore. When I told Mike that I was going to hire someone he wasn't too happy. So I asked him if he wanted the job of polishing furniture, cleaning the bathrooms and vacuuming the house. His answer was a definite no so from then on out he has had no problem with my gal coming. She even came while I was on vacation and he really enjoyed that he didn't have to do anything at all but laundry and heating up the meals I had fixed before I left.

While my lady is here I clean the kitchen really good. That is the one room that I do myself. She vacuums it and mops the floor. I have also had her wash the outside of the fridge every couple of weeks.

I love to cook but I hate figuring out what we are going to have for dinner every day. lol

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper! If we had a cook, we'd eat tasty meals all the time and become too tubby. I'd love to have someone help me clean, though.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper!
I love to cook.
I do not like to clean, dust, mop, scrub, etc.

I would really like a kitchen fairy who would clean up as I cook.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Cook! I hate cooking but love to clean; no person cleans better than I!

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Neither.....I want a gardener!

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

I recently hired someone to clean every two weeks. Although DH and I are "retired", we both work part-time at our golf course in our community. It keeps us doing something and gives us a little extra money plus free golf. DH also works at another golf course and gets free golf there plus some other associated courses. I decided I could have the luxury having the house cleaned because I need to enjoy my retirement and not have to worry about that heavy cleaning. It is wonderful and I love it! I love to cook and bake so a cook would not even be a thought.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

housekeeper... if i could ever get the house clean enough to have one, lol...

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Oh...Definately a cook (doesn't even have to be a good one!)

I prefer a messy house as someone else going through my stuff during the cleaning!

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper thank you!!

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

I'm with susanjf, LOL. First I have to get it clean enough to get a housekeeper.

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Housekeeper! I don't mind cooking if the house is clean, plus there would be someone to clean up my mess from cooking.LOL

 o
RE: Cook or Housekeeper?

Can't i have both??? LOL If i had to make that choice it would be housekeeper.
