It's Sue! I was never called by my first name -- until now, when all 'legal' documents, etc. use my first name plus S. for Sue. I guess I am also legally "(First name) Su (Surname)" -- since Medicare's paperwork provider lists me that way. Funny, I don't *look* Asian. LOL

RE: What's your middle name?

Phyllis...after my paternal grandmother

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Mona after my GreatAunt and Aunt. Mother wanted Mona Marion (after Dad's Mother who passed away when he was 3).
He talked her into Marion Mona since there were already two. My Aunt Mona named my cousin Mona 5 months after I was born. Gosh I guess we are a bunch of moaners! (Groan)

RE: What's your middle name?

Before I was married, Anne, after I was married I used my maiden last name as my middle name. If I had stuck with my middle name my initials would be PAP, so now it's PCP. MUCH better. My dad's lawyer for some reason known only to him, has legal documents with the PAP as my name. GRRRRRR, he knows better, I've told him countless times, but as long as I can prove I am the same person, it's ok, and I can!

Middle name is Gail. However, my first name is Rosemary, but I have never been called anything but Mary Gail after getting out of the hospital a month after my premature birth. All my legal papers, however, say Rosemary.

RE: What's your middle name?

I don't have one. Am I the only one? My parents probably thought I would take one when I was confirmed (although I think all three of my older siblings got middle names at birth) but I wasn't confirmed until I was 13. I never added my confirmation name to my legal name or used it for any purposes besides the confirmation.

RE: What's your middle name?

Farrer--it was my GM's middle name, my DF's middle name, and now two nieces have it for a middle name.

Farrer was the last name of friends of my GGM in England. After she moved to the states some of the Farrer's moved here, too. (New York City.) They were artists and I have a painted in my dining room that's dated 1886. I think it's in the original frame because it always hung over my GM's couch when I was a kid and has a paper back. There also also paintings in the Smithsonian and the Met in NY.

I have some sketches that were done when one of them (Edwin) was taking art classes. They're pretty neat!

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Raye--after my dad. I also took my maiden last name as my middle name when I got married.

It's the same middle name as my youngest aunt's. Our birthdays are the same day, Feb. 4, so Mom gave me her middle name, too.

"Marie" isn't my favorite name, but I love it because I share my aunt's middle name, and her birthday.

RE: What's your middle name?

It's confusing for a married woman to use her maiden surname as a 'middle name' when marrying. That sequence is proper for divorcees. Eample: Mrs. Mary Magilicuddy Moran. (Mary's maiden name was Magilicuddy. Her ex-husband's surname was Moran.)

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Marie
Confirmation name: Elizabeth

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

my name is Georgene my dads name is george and my moms name was eugenia so it is their names put together. My middle name is Margaret named after my dads mother. MY dad never had a middle name until he went into WW11 and then they said he had to have one. The reason was I think brvsudr there was a another George Doll in his hometown that was his cousin. He took the middle name Ralph after his Uncle I think. My mother never had a middle name, but she changed her first name when she was a teenager. Her name was IGENIO. One day her uncle and aunt came to their place and said she should have a more americanized name, so they changed it legally. She never had a drivers license. In the seventies they wanted to go on a trip to Rome and she needed a passport. She had the hardest time getting it because she had no proof of who she was. Finally someone believed her and she got one. My husband who is 59 also doesnt have a middle name.

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Deborah Marie for me, Mom was Doris Marie, daughters Michele Marie, Daniele Marie,
grandaughter Makayla Doris Marie plus my grandmother was Dorothy Marie.

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Same as your first name, clubm.

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Kenyon.

My logical mother decided that since our last name began with "L," my first name should start with "J" and middle name with "K" so that my initials would be in alphabetical order = J.K.L.

Kenyon was the only family name she found that fit. It's different from most girls and I like it.

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Prior to my marriage my middle name was Inez. Now my middle name is my maiden name.

I don't understand what is confusing about it, nor do I understand why one would start using their maiden name combined with their married name after a divorce. Off to Google.

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Marie, after my daddy's mother.I was named after both my grandmothers.
Two of my grandaughters have my middle as their middle name also.

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Ellen, after my paternal grandmother.

I wish my family had called me Sue Ellen because my maiden name was one syllable and when I was asked my name it was so fast and blah.

Any time names come up now in a conversation, I say I am the original Sue Ellen . . .before Gone With the Wind and Dallas.

Sue

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Another Kay here.

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Sue on my birth certificate. When I married, I dropped that and use my maiden name as my middle name. Never heard that it was for divorced women. I went to google also. Shrug.

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Jean

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Jane after my Maternal Grandmothers middle name...

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

I've never heard the divorce suggestion either. Hillary Rodham Clinton isn't divorced. I've assumed she uses 'Rodham' as a middle name. She was Hillary Rodham for several years until Bill lost an election and someone else became governor. The next time he ran, she became a Clinton.

I use my maiden name as a middle name because I had obtained my education under that name and had begun my career under that name. I knew I wanted children so I changed my last name to dh's when we got married. If I had decided not to have children, I would not have changed my name.

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Another Rose here after my maternal GM.

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Mine is Claire, DH's is George, and Brody's is Michael. My mom's and MIL's is Lee.

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Like Paula and Luann I don't have one. My confirmation name was Ann, but never used it. My parents named me Veronica (catholic saint) but I have always been called Ronnie.

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Mine is Ann also. Both my grandmothers' middle names were Ann, as is one of my aunts, and one of my cousins. I always wished it was my first name instead.

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Another Lynn here. Not sure where it came from though.

Trin

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Charlene, and that is the name I go by.

 o
RE: What's your middle name?

Alexis is my middle name. First name is Dawn. Started using my middle name as my first when I was young because; 1) I don't care for the name Dawn, 2) I got tired of people misspelling it to DON and 3) People trying to turn it into Donna.

Alexis :)
