after 'meeting' with police

Today I was at the police station with a case about which I wrote last week (drugs). It wasn't bad! I was there only about 10 minutes, because I don't know anything in this case.Policeman ask me some questions and did a statement.Anyway he took my phone number and my brother supposes that police could put a tap on our's phones (i mean on mine,my sister's and brother's phone)to check if we didn't lie,so I have to take care of what I am talking about or writting (cuz I like to joke about drugs with my dad for example-that we have a marihuana's plantation in our basement or that my grandma has a plantation:P).Hmm and that's all.Anyway I hope so!

Ya think that maybe something like that is what launched the investigation???

I'm glad it was that easy, but I'm not glad that you had the anxiety over something that you have no knowledge. I hope it's all over and done with.

dilly dally-I meant now they could to put a tap on our's phones, not before. And if for example they will hear me talking to my father "yes I watered weed" (or something like that) with serious voice, how can they know if I joked or I was serious? Here in my city police found big plantation in block of flats (not one time), so it's not impossible to have it in basement for example. So I think it's better to don't risk by phone, even if it's sounds stupid

Again, I have no idea how your police and court system work compared to ours but taking the phone number here is very common. If you're interviewed for anything, they'll ask a phone number, address and usually Social Security number. It goes into the report (here I mean) and they have your number if they need to contact you. In this country they can tap your phone most anytime. It's easy for our police to get someone's phone number.

These days you have to be careful what you say. With the "Patriot Act" the invasions here are many. But even joking about growing weed in a basement at worst would get a search. If you don't have it, there's no problem if they do. And here they would need a warrant, which isn't hard to get or your permission.

I hope you can relax a bit more now. Hope you're having a great week! Oh and thanks for the update!

Gosh, the Sheriff's Dept called my house last week(at 1/4 to 5) because someone called and said my dog was barking all night..which she wasn't...and when we didn't answer they came to the door at 5:15 am..ringing the door bell and banging on the door..(by then she was definitely barking!!)

My number is unlisted...so apparently you don't even have to give it to them for them to call you...

There is no such thing as an unlisted phone number to the police. They want it, they get it.
